Vicente del Bosque confirms Spain stay

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque says that he will not resign from his post following La Roja's dismal World Cup campaign.

Vicente del Bosque has confirmed that he has no intention of walking away from his role as Spain coach, despite their disappointing World Cup campaign this summer.

La Roja endured a dismal defence of their world title in Brazil, losing to the Netherlands and Chile en route to a group-stage exit from the tournament.

Consequently, questions have since been raised over Del Bosque's position and the continued effectiveness of Spain's tika-taka philosophy.

However, the 63-year-old says that he will oversee the nation's Euro 2016 campaign and claims that he will not instigate a "drastic revolution".

"We can do a lot better and get back on the right lines," he told reporters in Spain. "We will try to defend our title at the next European Championship.

"A drastic revolution is not necessary, instead we must continue on the same path with some minor changes."

Germany won this summer's World Cup by beating Argentina in Rio last Sunday courtesy of Mario Gotze's extra-time winner.
