Mousa Dembele doubtful for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood reveals that Mousa Dembele is a major doubt for Thursday's Europa League encounter with Benfica.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has revealed that Mousa Dembele is a major doubt for Thursday's Europa League last-16 clash with Benfica.

The Belgian midfielder was forced to sit out Saturday's 4-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League due to a hamstring injury.

He is now expected to undergo a late fitness test ahead of tomorrow's first leg at White Hart Lane.

"There is improvement in Mousa but we'll leave that decision until we know more tomorrow," he told the club's official website. "He'll certainly be a doubt."

Christian Eriksen has been passed fit for the match after a spell on the sidelines with a back problem.
