Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Marine AFC

Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's FA Cup third-round clash with Marine AFC.

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to record more domestic cup success when they face off against eighth-tier side Marine AFC in the third round of the FA Cup.

Jose Mourinho's men comfortably overcame 10-man Brentford 2-0 in midweek to advance to the EFL Cup final, where they will face holders Manchester City after they beat bitter rivals Manchester United in the other semi-final on Wednesday.

Tottenham are now in a terrific position to end their 12-year trophy drought, but their record in the FA Cup is less than satisfactory having been knocked out in the fifth round to Norwich City last season.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their FA Cup clash with Marine, who are the lowest-ranked team left in the competition.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Shin
Possible return date: January 10 (vs. Marine)

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was on the receiving end of a nasty challenge from Josh Dasilva on Tuesday evening, and the Brentford man was given his marching orders after a VAR check. Hojbjerg was determined to carry on with blood seeping down his leg, and while he was ultimately substituted, Mourinho is confident that the midfielder will be fine for the weekend.

Gareth Bale

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: January 10 (vs. Marine)

Gareth Bale's return to Tottenham has been hampered by a calf injury sustained in the EFL Cup win over Stoke City before Christmas. Mourinho said after the game that the attacker is likely to remain sidelined for a "few weeks", but the Spurs boss has since revealed that Bale wants to play in this fixture if he is deemed fit enough.

Giovani Lo Celso

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Giovani Lo Celso - who recently found himself in hot water for breaching coronavirus restrictions - sustained a hamstring injury in the defeat to Leicester City on December 20 and is not expected to return to action for at least another couple of weeks.

TOTTENHAM'S SUSPENSION LIST

Matt Doherty served a one-match ban in midweek after being sent off against Leeds United, so Spurs have no players suspended for Sunday's clash with Marine.
