Half-Time Report: Tottenham Hotspur level with Reading

Tottenham Hotspur recover from conceding an early goal against Reading and go into the break level at 1-1.

Reading are holding Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League at half time.

The Royals made the breakthrough as early as the fourth minute. Ian Harte's free kick clipped the underside of the crossbar and Pavel Pogrebnyak headed home the rebound.

Spurs replied almost immediately when Aaron Lennon floated in a cross from the right that Emmanuel Adebayor could only head wide.

Andre Villas-Boas's side continued to apply pressure on their visitors and eventually equalised in the 10th minute when Michael Dawson headed home Gylfi Sigurdsson's corner past goalkeeper Adam Federici.

That goal helped Spurs settle down, as Mousa Dembele fired just wide from 20 yards midway through the first half and then Sandro tried his luck from distance.

Jermain Defoe came close for Tottenham in the 38th minute when he got the better of Mikele Leigertwood outside the Reading penalty area, but his shot from 20 yards shaved the outside the post on its way out.
