Spurs looked to attack from the off as Gareth Bale's drive was gathered by Steve Bunn in the Norwich goal.

The visitors went even closer soon after when Clint Dempsey lashed his shot narrowly over the crossbar.

Norwich had a good chance to open the scoring midway through the half, but Steve Moris could only put his header into the arms of Hugo Lloris from a corner.

Bale then saw a final opportunity of the half smash into the sidenetting with his first-time effort.
