Tottenham Hotspur and manager Andre Villas-Boas could reportedly cut ties at the end of the season.
The Portuguese coach was dogged by rumours of a possible dismissal following his side's 6-0 defeat to Manchester City on November 24.
Despite Spurs claiming a draw and two victories following on from their thrashing by City, reports have stated that Villas-Boas's relationship with chairman Daniel Levy has become strained.
Levy is hopeful that the former Chelsea manager will resign from his post at the end of the season in order to avoid paying him compensation, according to Goal.com.
It has been claimed that Levy, who is said to have had a disagreement with Villas-Boas over the club's transfer activity in the summer, is already considering potential replacements.
