Wales winger Gareth Bale believes that he can still improve on his game.

Wales and Tottenham winger Gareth Bale believes that he can become an even better player after being named Wales Footballer of the Year for the second year in a row.

The 22-year-old has missed four games for his country through injury, but his performances when fit have led him to be regarded as the stand-out player.

"It's always nice to win an award, especially when you look at the names who have previously won this award, it's great to be among them," he said.

"I want to play as well as I can every game at club or international level and always give 100%. It is good to get awards but as a team the most important thing is we have stayed together and we have progressed.

"I am getting a bit older and I am getting a bit more confident in my game, I am learning and I want to take it to the next level, hopefully there is more to come."

Wales Euro 2012 qualifying campaign ends this week when they face Switzerland and Bulgaria.
