Jermain Defoe disappointed not to be given England goal

Jermain Defoe says that he is "gutted" to have been denied a goal for England against Ukraine last night but claims that he is now focused on Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Jermain Defoe has admitted that he is "gutted" that his goal was disallowed during the Three Lions' draw with Ukraine last night.

Roy Hodgson's side salvaged a point from their 2014 World Cup qualifier at Wembley courtesy of a late equaliser from Frank Lampard on the penalty spot.

Earlier in the first half Defoe was denied the opening goal but the Spurs forward has insisted that England must take the positives away from the draw.

Defoe tweeted: "Gutted over my disallowed goal gotta take the point and build on this back to training with my spurs boys now to get ready for Sunday's game."

Meanwhile, Spurs are preparing to travel to Reading for their Premier League meeting this weekend.
