Tim Sherwood hopes for Christian Eriksen stay

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood says that he hopes the club are able to keep hold of Christian Eriksen.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has said that he hopes the club are able to keep hold of Christian Eriksen.

The 22-year-old joined the club from Ajax last summer and has found the back of the net 10 times during an impressive first season at White Hart Lane.

"You are always fearful that someone might come and take one of your best players and Christian is certainly one," Sky Sports quotes him as saying.

"I watched him at 17 years of age at Wembley for Denmark and I rang (chairman) Daniel Levy the day after and said that he needs to sign this boy - £10m later he is finally here, so that is all good news.

"He has been great acquisition for the club and they have done well to bring him in."

Eriksen has won 42 caps for the Denmark national team, scoring four goals in the process.
