Tim Sherwood unhappy with Frank de Boer comments

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood says that Frank de Boer's comments regarding the Ajax coach's chances of taking over at White Hart Lane were disrespectful.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has criticised Frank de Boer after the Ajax coach claimed that he would like the Spurs job.

The Dutchman recently revealed that White Hart Lane hotseat is a position that interests him, but the current boss said that De Boer's comments were disrespectful.

He told reporters: "It's natural, I suppose, it's a big job but I don't think I would ever tout myself about for a job when someone was already in the hotseat.

"But if they want to do that, that's up to them. I don't know Frank. I'm not sure. I'm relaxed about it but it wouldn't be something I would be doing.

"I don't even know if top four gets me the job [full-time]. You will have to ask the chairman (Daniel Levy) but he doesn't give much away. You certainly wouldn't want to play poker against him."

Spurs travel to Newcastle United this evening.
