Alan Pardew's Newcastle United have endured a horrible run of form in recent weeks.
The Magpies have lost five of their last seven Premier League matches - during this period they have failed to find the back of the net six times.
Their chances of reversing that sequence of results will not be helped when Tottenham Hotspur visit St James' Park tomorrow night by the fact that leading goalscorer Loic Remy will serve the last of his three-game suspension.
What's more, Pardew also has injury doubts over Fabricio Coloccini, Mathieu Debuchy, Cheick Tiote, Gabriel Obertan and Gael Bigirimana.
However, attackers Yoan Gouffran and Papiss Cisse could return to feature in the squad.
As for visiting Spurs, their manager Tim Sherwood will have to make do without the injured Sandro, Erik Lamela and Vlad Chiriches.
England winger Andros Townsend is fit, though, and could be in line for recall to the starting lineup.
Spurs have not won a match on Tyneside since Thimothee Atouba scored the only of the game back in August 2004.
