Tottenham Hotspur missed the chance to make it four Premier League wins in a row after being held to a 1-1 draw at Everton on Sunday afternoon.

The home side opened the scoring through Aaron Lennon, but Spurs, who dominated the clash for long stages, were level in stoppage time at the end of the first period when Dele Alli finished from inside the box.
Spurs had a half-chance inside the opening five minutes when Kyle Walker drove down the right before delivering a low cross towards Alli, but Seamus Coleman was on the cover to make a fine clearance at the vital moment.
The visitors continued to threaten and came with inches of taking the lead in the ninth minute, but Harry Kane's strike from distance hit the inside of the post before bouncing clear of the Everton box.
Completely against the run of play, it was Everton that took the lead, however, with Lennon finding the top corner from inside the box after a set-up header from the powerful Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees had another half-chance moments after when Lennon set up Arouna Kone inside the box, but two Spurs defenders charged down the striker's effort during an end-to-end period of the match.
Spurs hit the woodwork for the second time at Goodison on the half-hour mark, with Ben Davies collecting a short corner before rattling the crossbar with a rasping strike.
The visitors continued to threaten as the first period approached its latter stages and they were deservedly level in the first minute of stoppage time when Ali collected a long pass from Toby Alderweireld before finishing past Tim Howard, who stood no chance from close range.

The first half-chance of the second period also fell to Spurs, but after Alli had chested down into the path of Kane, John Stones came from nowhere to make a challenge. Minutes later, Christian Eriksen found space outside the Everton box, but his low strike was always comfortable for Howard.
It was Roberto Martinez that moved first in terms of substitutions as he introduced both Gerard Deulofeu and Muhamed Besic just before the hour mark as Spurs continued to look the most likely to score the game's third goal.
Deulofeu's introduction immediately raised the crowd and the Spaniard set up a chance for Lukaku when he delivered a cross towards the far post, but it was just too high for the Belgian striker.

Alli had another shot on target for the away side in the 74th minute, but his effort was straight at Howard as the two Premier League rivals approached the final stages level at 1-1.
Everton had two good chances in quick succession in the 80th minute, but Besic's long-range strike was kept out by Hugo Lloris, before Ramiro Funes Mori headed wide of the post from the resulting corner.
Both teams had half-chances in an end-to-end closing to the match, but the best opportunity fell to Lukaku, who fired high and wide of the post after battling with Jan Vertonghen, before Lloris kept out a low strike from Ross Barkley.
The result means that Everton have now only won one of their last seven in the league, while Spurs have still lost just two from 20 Premier League games this season. Spurs remain fourth, but they are now just three points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United. Everton, meanwhile, remain in 11th positionin the table.
