Mauricio Pochettino reportedly tells Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to leave the club, with Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur both said to be interested in the Argentine.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to leave the club this summer, amid reported interest from Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine only replaced Thomas Tuchel as head coach earlier this year and ended the 2020-21 campaign with a Coupe de France and Trophee des Champions double.

PSG fell short in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, though, and Tottenham are thought to want Pochettino back at the club as a replacement for Jose Mourinho.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have allegedly identified the South American as the ideal candidate to succeed Zinedine Zidane, who has stood down as head coach.

According to Goal, Pochettino has informed PSG that he wants to leave the club, but the 49-year-old still has a year left to run on his contract with the capital giants.

The report claims that the manager will not force an exit and will remain in the position until the end of next season if the French outfit decide that he cannot depart.

Pochettino has won 23, drawn four and lost seven of his 34 games in charge of Les Parisiens.
