Team News: Emmanuel Adebayor back for Tottenham Hotspur

Emmanuel Adebayor is one of four players to return for Tottenham for tonight's match against Sunderland, who make two changes of their own.

Emmanuel Adebayor has been restored to Tottenham Hotspur's starting lineup for this evening's Premier League clash with Sunderland at White Hart Lane.

The Togolese striker missed last weekend's heavy defeat to Liverpool through injury but has recovered in time for tonight's match.

He will be joined up front by Harry Kane, who comes into the side as manager Tim Sherwood opts for a slight change of formation with two strikers.

Vlad Chiriches and Paulinho also come back into the side, with Jan Vertonghen, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Nabil Bentaleb and Roberto Soldado making way.

Sunderland, meanwhile, make two changes of their own as Adam Johnson comes back into the starting lineup in place of Connor Wickham, while John O'Shea is dropped to the bench in favour of Carlos Cuellar.

Tottenham: Lloris; Naughton, Chiriches, Kaboul, Rose; Lennon, Chadli, Paulinho, Eriksen; Adebayor, Kane
Subs: Friedel, Fryers, Veljkovic, Bentaleb, Sandro, Sigurdsson, Townsend

Sunderland: Mannone; Bardsley, Alonso, Brown, Cuellar; Vergini, Ki, Bridcutt, Cattermole, Johnson; Borini
Subs: Larsson, Gardner, Wickham, Colback, O'Shea, Scocco, Ustari
