Borussia Dortmund are close to sealing a deal to sign Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to sporting director Michael Zorc.

Borussia Dortmund are closing in on a deal to sign Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to sporting director Michael Zorc.

The 24-year-old has been linked with several clubs this summer including Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

However, the Champions League finalists appear to have beaten the Premier League sides to the Gabon international's signature.

Zorc told Kicker: "We are very far in negotiations for Aubameyang. He is a very fast, prolific player. He is also versatile so he can adapt to our game."

Aubameyang scored 19 goals in all competitions for Saint-Etienne last season.
