Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has revealed that the club "are delighted" to secure the signing of Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Werder Bremen.
The 24-year-old defender, who has penned a five-year contract with the Champions League finalists, will act as a replacement for Felipe Santana, who has joined Schalke 04.
"We are delighted that Sokratis has decided to join Borussia Dortmund. He is a flexible player capable to play in a variety of positions in defence who we believe has tremendous potential," Zorc said in a club statement.
Dortmund are expected to lose a number of their first-team players this summer.
