Everton have reportedly prepared to battle with Aston Villa to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks.
With the Englishman struggling to earn minutes so far this season, the Lilywhites are said to be open to letting him leave in the January transfer window, drawing rumoured interest from the Toffees.
According to Caught Offside, the Merseyside outfit will now have to battle with Aston Villa, who are also keen on bringing Winks into the club on loan after the turn of the year.
The report continues, saying that Everton turned their attention to the 25-year-old after a failed move for Manchester United's Donny van de Beek, and they are said to have lined him up as one of their prime targets for the upcoming window.
Winks has made just two appearances in the Premier League since Nuno Espirito Santo's appointment in the summer, with the Portuguese boss reportedly freezing the midfielder out in North London.
The 10-cap England international has now featured 179 times for his boyhood club and is said to be open to a loan move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.
