Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo reportedly leaves Dele Alli out of his squad for Wednesday's EFL Cup last-16 clash with Burnley.

Dele Alli has reportedly not been included in Tottenham Hotspur's squad for Wednesday's EFL Cup last-16 clash with Burnley.

The 25-year-old initially appeared to have reignited his Spurs career under Ryan Mason and Nuno Espirito Santo but has found minutes hard to come by in recent weeks.

Alli played the full 90 minutes in last week's Europa Conference League defeat to Vitesse, but the playmaker has been an unused substitute in Spurs' last three Premier League games.

Santo was expected to hand the England international some minutes in the EFL Cup this week, but The Athletic reports that he has not been named in the squad for Wednesday's trip to Turf Moor.

The report adds that there is also no room in the squad for Harry Winks, with Santo set to name a large number of his first-choice Premier League players in the first XI.

Alli boasts two goals and one assist from 11 matches in all competitions this season and is out of contract at Tottenham in 2024.
