Mauricio Pochettino: 'No interest in Carlos Bacca'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino insists that there is no interest in signing Sevilla's Colombian striker Carlos Bacca.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he has no interest in signing Sevilla's Colombian striker Carlos Bacca.

The Argentine is short of options up front, with the misfiring Roberto Soldado and out-of-favour Emmanuel Adebayor looking unlikely to get much game time towards the end of the season.

Harry Kane is Spurs' first-choice striker but the Englishman has only scored once in his last five appearances.

Bacca, who has netted 17 times for Sevilla this season, has previously been linked with a move to White Hart Lane but Pochettino insists that there is "no interest".

"I hear about this player in the media but I know him as I follow the Spanish league. [There is] no interest," the 43-year-old said, according to Goal.com.

Paul Mitchell, head of Spurs' recruitment, reportedly flew out to Germany to watch the Colombian forward play in the Europa League last week.

Bacca is believed to have an £18m release clause in his contract with Sevilla.
