Mauricio Pochettino keen on bringing in more players

Mauricio Pochettino admits that Tottenham Hotspur need to make more signings following Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has admitted his squad needs to be improved following Saturday's 1-0 loss to Manchester United.

Spurs kicked off the new campaign with a defeat as Kyle Walker's own goal handed United all three points at Old Trafford on a day when Toby Alderweireld was the only player to make his debut for the visitors.

Pochettino's other two summer signings Kieran Tripper and Kevin Wimmer were on the bench, and the Argentine is hopeful of reinforcements before the end of the transfer window.

"Yes, this is very clear," the Spurs boss replied when asked whether his side needed more options in attack. "We need to add more players."

Harry Kane was the only striker in the squad on Saturday as Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado continue to be linked with moves away from North London.
