Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst before the end of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen to sign Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst before the end of this summer's transfer window.

Spurs put five goals past Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon and have boosted their attacking options this summer with the signing of Gareth Bale.

However, head coach Jose Mourinho said after Sunday's 5-2 victory at St Mary's that he is still keen to bring a new centre-forward to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the October deadline.

According to Tabantia, Spurs are 'serious' about signing Weghorst, who was believed to be a target for Arsenal in the early stages of this summer's transfer window.

The 28-year-old enjoyed an excellent 2019-20 campaign for his German club, scoring 20 times and providing five assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

Weghorst recently admitted that he could be on the move this summer, but the Netherlands international still has three years left to run on his current deal.
