Stoke say that they will not complain to UEFA about objects that were allegedly thrown at their players against Besiktas.

Stoke City have said that they will not make a complaint to UEFA about objects that were allegedly thrown at their players in their match against Besiktas on Thursday night.

Jermaine Pennant and Ricardo Fuller had missiles thrown at them during their 3-1 Europa League defeat at the Inonu Stadium in Turkey.

"We won't be complaining to anyone. We're Stoke and we don't complain," said manager Tony Pulis.

Pennant revealed that he didn't want to take corner kicks for fear of being struck.

"I was getting pelted with everything - lighters, coins," he added. "I didn't want to take [the corner] because every second I could see things flying past me.

"Until that stopped, I didn't feel comfortable taking the corner and then obviously the referee called me away."

Despite the loss, the Potters had already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition before the match.
