Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has backed the Football Association's decision to withdraw Sunderland defender Wes Brown's red card.
The 34-year-old was sent off during the Black Cats' 2-0 defeat to Stoke last weekend, but was later successful in his appeal.
Despite the decision being made against Stoke's opponents, Hughes believes that the original dismissal by referee Kevin Friend was wrong.
"I think the FA's decision to overturn Wes Brown's sending-off was the correct one," Hughes said in a press conference. "At the time I thought that it was a bit reckless but, having seen the replays it is the right call for them to rescind his red card."
Stoke will take on Everton at Goodison Park tomorrow.
