Stoke City boss Mark Hughes believes that his side are making progress under his tenure following their win over Aston Villa.
Second-half strikes from Charlie Adam and Peter Crouch were enough to hand the Potters victory at Britannia Stadium despite Libor Kozak grabbing a 66th-minute goal for Paul Lambert's side.
Hughes told BBC Sport: "Peter Crouch, among others, did well. He gave us a focal point and we scored two good goals. They got the leveller through an individual error but we responded and all-in all a good afternoon.
"I felt we did enough to win the game. We are doing okay. We are going in the right direction. We want to kick on from this point onwards. We have worked hard in first part of season and we need to continue that."
Stoke are 10th in the Premier League following their win.
