Stoke City boss Paul Lambert refuses to play down the importance of Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Stoke City boss Paul Lambert has refused to play down the importance of Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Stoke will enter this weekend's match down in 19th position in the Premier League table - three points behind 17th-placed Swansea City, who face a trip to Bournemouth.

The Potters have drawn each of their last three league fixtures, but Lambert has admitted that 'it is clear for everyone' that his team need to collect all three points against Palace.

"It's clear for everyone we have to win on Saturday. We will try and play as well as we have been and try to get the victory. We have been playing well but have just lacked a killer pass and a bit of luck at times," Lambert told reporters.

"There is plenty of belief in the squad we can get out of trouble. We just have to try everything we can to score goals. We did everything we could to get a result at Anfield last weekend.

"We played a good game and picked up a point no one expected. The most important thing is the club stays up. For me it would be massive for us to stay up but it would be bigger for the club."

Stoke have only won six of their 36 Premier League matches this season.
