Stoke City right-back Andy Wilkinson says that he is willing to switch sides in order to fill in the gap left by injured Marc Wilson.

Stoke City right-back Andy Wilkinson has insisted that he is capable of covering at left-back following Marc Wilson's injury.

The 25-year-old is expected to be sidelined for a lengthy period of time after suffering a broken leg during the Potters' goalless draw against Sunderland at the weekend.

"It's totally down to the gaffer who he thinks is best suited to come in and play at left-back, but I am definitely ready to step in if he feels I am the best option," Wilkinson told the Stoke Sentinel.

"I will play anywhere on the field and I have played at left back before, so it wouldn't be something that is totally new to me."

Stoke are preparing to face Norwich City in the Premier League this weekend.
