Peter Coates: 'Stoke City working hard on transfers'

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates reveals that the club is working hard to bring in new players by the end of the month.

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has revealed that the club is working hard to sign new players during the January transfer window.

The Potters are currently in 12th place in the Premier League table following just two defeats in their last seven games.

Despite the team's solid position in the top flight, Coates is hopeful that there will be new arrivals at the Britannia Stadium by the end of the month.

"We are looking to see if we can bring someone in who's going to help us," he told The Sentinel. "But it is a tough market out there and it will not be easy.

"We are doing okay this season, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't strengthen the team if the right deal came along.

"Despite the difficult market out there, we are working hard on these things behind the scenes."

Stoke are back in Premier League action on Sunday when they play host to Liverpool.
