Former Stoke City winger Liam Lawrence is said to be on trial with Championship club Barnsley ahead of a possible move to the Championship club.
According to Vital Barnsley, Tykes manager Danny Wilson is looking to add experience to his squad, who currently occupy bottom spot in the second tier.
Lawrence, 32, also played for Mansfield Town, Sunderland, Portsmouth and Cardiff City in England before moving to current club PAOK in Greece on a two-year contract in summer 2012.
The right-midfielder has made just two appearances this season in Greece.
