Tony Pulis: 'Michael Owen has not expressed desire to leave'

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis reiterates that striker Michael Owen will stay at the club and see out his contract at the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has insisted that striker Michael Owen has no intention of leaving the Britannia Stadium, despite rumours over his future.

The former Liverpool and Manchester United frontman has been linked with a switch to Australian outfit Perth Glory but Pulis has reiterated that the 33-year-old is expected to stay at Stoke until the end of the season.

"Michael has got a contract until the end of the season and as far as I'm concerned, he has not come in and said he wants to change it," Pulis said in a press conference.

"We haven't pulled Michael in and said we want to change that. So Michael will be part of the football club hopefully until the end of the season."

Owen has made just one start and four substitute appearances for the Potters since joining in the summer.
