Stoke City "working on one or two things" in transfer market

Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes reveals that the Potters, who have already signed four players this summer, are "working on one or two things" in the transfer market.

Stoke City chief executive Tony Scholes has revealed that they still have more transfer dealings in the pipeline, having already made four signings this summer.

The Potters have brought in Steve Sidwell, Phil Bardsley, young Slovakian defender Dionatan Teixeira and former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf this pre-season, and are yet to spend a penny.

Scholes has suggested that he is willing to get his chequebook out for the right player, and has indicated that a couple of deals are currently being negotiated as he and Mark Hughes continue to do business.

He told reporters: "We are still working on one or two things and, as I've said before, we look to do the right business, for the right players, for the right price."

The Potters finished a Premier League-best ninth last season, in their first campaign under Hughes.
