Half-Time Report: Charis Mavrias strike gives Sunderland the lead

Sunderland lead non-league Kidderminster Harriers 1-0 at half time in the FA Cup.

Sunderland have gone in 1-0 up against non-league Kidderminster Harriers at half time in the FA Cup.

Charis Mavrias gave the home side the lead after just five minutes when he drilled a low shot into the bottom corner, managing to escape the attention of a couple of challenges.

Mavrias was involved again on 25 minutes when he set up Emmanuel Giaccherini, but the Italian could only flash his shot over the bar inside the area.

Michael Gash has been lively for the visitors and he perhaps should have scored when going through on goal, but the forward was denied by debutant goalkeeper Oscar Ustari.
