Sunderland are offered free agent striker Jonas Goncalves Oliveira, who wants to try his hand at English football, according to reports.

Sunderland have reportedly been offered the services of Brazilian striker Jonas Goncalves Oliveira.

The former Valencia forward has been released from his contract and is free to talk to interested clubs, and Sunderland have made contact, according to The Chronicle.

Jonas's agent Tiago Goncalves is quoted as saying: "Now the athlete is free we believe that in the coming days we can decide which path we will follow."

Jonas, who has eight Brazil caps and scored 35 goals in 102 games for Valencia, is said to want a move to English football.
