Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio is reportedly weighing up a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker for a fee in the region of £4m.

Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio is eyeing a swoop for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker, according to a report.

The Italian wants to revamp his Black Cats side that narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League last season.

Spurs would be willing to sell the 32-year-old, who has two years left on his contract at White Hart Lane, as they feel that they have better options in their midfield, reports The Mirror.

Parker used to play for Sunderland's bitter rivals Newcastle United, which could turn out to be a stumbling block in any potential move.
