Swansea City boss Garry Monk: 'Priority is to reach 40-point mark'

Swansea City boss Garry Monk says that his first priority is to get the team to 40 points in the Premier League.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has claimed that his main focus is to get the team up to the 40-point mark in the Premier League.

The Welsh outfit are currently on 33 points in ninth place, and Monk is keen to secure his side's top-flight survival.

"I'm always pushing for more," Monk told reporters in today's press conference. "Our first point of call is to get to that 40-point mark and we've got a chance to get there probably quicker than we have ever done before.

"We've got an important month coming up, starting on Saturday, and we want to show how we want to go forward until the end of the season."

Swansea will take on Sunderland at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
