Team News: Wilfried Bony starts for Swansea City

Wilfied Bony starts up front for Swansea City in the first leg of their Europa League playoff tie against Petrolul Ploiesti.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has named a strong side to face Petrolul Ploiesti in the Europa League this evening, with summer signing Wilfried Bony starting up front.

Bony, who was dropped for the Swans' 4-1 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend, leads the line after his goals against Malmo in the previous round.

Ben Davies and Jose Canas drop to the bench while Nathan Dyer misses out due to injury, with Neil Taylor and Pablo Hernandez coming into the team.

Davies makes up a back four alongside Angel Rangel, Chico Flores and Ashley Williams.

Jonjo Shelvey starts in midfield alongside Hernandez, Leon Britton, Wayne Routledge and Michu.

Swansea City: Vorm; Rangel, Chico Flores, Williams, Taylor; Britton, Shelvey, Michu, Routledge, Hernandez; Bony.

Petrolul Ploiesti: Dos Santos; Achim, Alves, Benga, Guilherme; Boudjemaa, Hoban, Mustivar, Grozav; Younes, Teixeira
