Bafetimbi Gomis rules out Swansea City exit

Bafetimbi Gomis says that he is staying at Swansea following speculation that West Ham were keen to sign him.

Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis has revealed that he will not be leaving the club on deadline day.

The Frenchman, who joined the Swans last summer, was said to have grown disillusioned with life in South Wales after struggling for first-team opportunities.

West Ham United reportedly had a £6m bid knocked back earlier today, and Gomis says that he will be staying at the Liberty Stadium.

"I have decided to stay With Swansea. I wanted to share this with you before the end of the transfer window. It's the best choice for me," he wrote on Twitter.

"Even if i was sad before because I didn't play a lot. Now everything is different. I believe in this team and his project.

"I have spoken with the coach [Garry Monk] and I have his confidence and he has mine. I am lucky to play and live in Swansea."

The 29-year-old has started the Swans' last five games after first-choice striker Wilfried Bony joined Manchester City earlier in the transfer window.
