Reports in the Spanish media today have declared that Swansea City have agreed a deal to sign Spanish midfielder Jose Alberto Canas on a free transfer this summer.
Canas has been a cornerstone of an impressive season for Real Betis in La Liga but is out of contract in June and free to seek a move elsewhere.
According to 20minutos the 25-year-old has held talks with Michael Laudrup's side and agreed a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium.
Canas would become the fifth Spanish player to join Swansea if the deal goes ahead, linking up with compatriots Chico Flores, Michu, Pablo Hernandez and Angel Rangel.
