Khouma Babacar resuces point for Fiorentina

Khouma Babacar cancels out Fabio Quagliarella's strike as Fiorentina earn a 1-1 draw against Torino.

Khouma Babacar scored a late equaliser as Fiorentina came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Torino in Serie A this afternoon.

Babacar came close for the visitors just after the half-hour mark with a low strike that was saved by Jean Francois Gillet.

Five minutes later it was Torino's turn to threaten, but Juan Sanchez Mino could only put his effort from the edge of the box wide of the post.

The last chance of the first half fell to Fabio Quagliarella, who burst into the box and drilled a low shot across goal that was touched wide by the keeper.

After the break, Jasmin Kurtic flashed a shot just wide of the post for Torino, before Matias Fernandez curled a free kick over the bar for the visitors.

Torino finally made the breakthrough in the 62nd minute through Quagliarella, who was picked out inside the box by Bruno Peres, before turning and firing a low strike into the far corner.

Alberto Aquilani then saw a free kick tipped over by the keeper as Fiorentina pressed for an equaliser.

Their pressure paid off in the 78th minute as Babacar ran onto Filippo Bernardeschi's threaded pass, before rounding the keeper and slotting the ball into the net to earn his side a point.
