Torino ensure safety with a 1-1 draw at Chievo as Alessio Cerci's penalty kick earns the visitors a precious point.

Torino have guaranteed another season in Serie A this afternoon after battling to a 1-1 draw at Chievo.

The visitors endured a difficult start to the match and trailed after just 10 minutes to the Flying Donkeys.

Cyril Thereau was the man who broke the deadlock, shrugging off two defenders before finishing coolly from a tight angle for his second goal is as many games.

Torino were handed a golden chance to level just nine minutes later as Chievo conceded a penalty as Dario Dainelli tripped Angelo Ogbonna inside the area.

Alessio Cerci made no mistake from the spot to equalise and get the goal which effectively ensured Torino's survival.

Paulo Vitor Barreto then went within inches of giving Torino the lead, forcing a fine stop from Christian Puggioni at his near post with a curling drive.

Matteo Brighi clipped the woodwork with a volley late on as Chievo were made to defend resolutely in the closing stages.

Chievo were unable to force a late response as the visitors held firm to secure a point that ensures another season in Serie A.
