Torino are reportedly closing in on the signature of Parma attacker Antonio Cassano in January.
According to Il Giornale, the Italian international is set to leave the Serie A strugglers and was being targeted by former club Sampdoria.
However, Blucerchiati coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is thought to be unwilling to pursue a deal for 32-year-old, leaving the way for Torino to take Cassano away from I Ducali in the New Year.
A Torino move for Cassano appears more likely, with club chairman Urbano Cairo revealing that transfers for Sebastian Giovinco and Giampaolo Pazzini will not materialise.
Parma are currently bottom of Serie A, seven points from safety.
