Preview: Tottenham Hotspur Ladies vs. Everton Ladies - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Women's Super League clash between Tottenham Hotspur Ladies and Everton Ladies, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Two teams that are level on nine points in the Women's Super League table will face off on Sunday when Tottenham Hotspur Ladies play host to Everton Ladies.

The hosts will be aiming to record consecutive victories after thrashing Brighton & Hove Albion 8-0, while the visitors are looking to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United.

Tottenham have experienced mixed results in their opening five games of the WSL season, which have resulted in three wins and two defeats.

Their most recent victory took place last weekend, and it proved to be a momentous one, as Spurs hammered Brighton 8-0 to record their biggest-ever win in the WSL.

Molly Bartrip and Nikola Karczewska both found the net within 20 minutes before Ashleigh Neville, Drew Spence and Jessica Naz all scored two goals apiece to wrap up a superb victory.

Following their comfortable win over the Seagulls, Tottenham head into the weekend in fifth place with six points separating them from the top three.

Spurs will at the very least want to maintain their position in the league as they attempt to claim consecutive league wins for the first time this season.

Like their opponents, Everton also have nine points to their name, although they sit a place behind in sixth position due to Tottenham's superior goal difference.

They have also played one game more than Spurs, with their six league matches yielding three wins and three defeats, suggesting that they are struggling to find consistency.

In their most recent encounter, Everton conceded three goals for the second straight home game in the WSL, losing 3-0 to Manchester United.

While they have lost their last two home league matches, Everton have the chance to record a third consecutive away victory on Sunday after beating Liverpool and Aston Villa in their previous two away games.

As a result of keeping clean sheets in both of those victories, the Toffees head into Sunday's contest with the third-best defensive away record in the WSL.

Team News

The hosts are unable to call upon Ellie Brazil, who is set for a long spell on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in Tottenham's most recent home game against Manchester City.

After coming off the bench to score a brace against Brighton, Naz could be rewarded with a place in the starting lineup.

Neville will be crucial to Tottenham's chances of claiming a victory, and she will look to add to the four goals that she has scored in all competitions this season when she features on the left flank for Spurs on Sunday.

As for the visitors, Brian Sorensen has confirmed that Katrine Veje will miss out after picking up a knock in the defeat to Man United.

With Veje unavailable, the Everton boss will have to reshuffle his side, with Nathalie Bjorn set to drop back into defence, while Karen Holmgaard could feature in central midfield.

After coming on as a half-time substitute last weekend, Katja Snoeijs could be brought into the starting XI to lead the line on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies possible starting lineup:
Korpela; Turner, Bartrip, Zadorsky, Ale; Bizet, James, Summanen, Neville; Naz, Spence

Everton Ladies possible starting lineup:
Brosnan; Bjorn, Sevecke, Finnigan; George, Holmgaard, Wheeler, Graham; Park, Bennison, Snoeijs

We say: Tottenham Hotspur Ladies 1-1 Everton Ladies

Although Tottenham recorded a historic win last weekend, they have been unable to claim consecutive victories in the WSL this season, and we think that they will be held to a point by an Everton side that are in impressive away form.
