Bordeaux see off Toulouse

Bordeaux secure a 2-1 win against Toulouse in Sunday's Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Chaban Delmas, thanks to goals from Marc Planus and Diego Rolan.

Bordeaux have secured a 2-1 win against Toulouse in Sunday's Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Chaban Delmas to remain fourth in the table.

The first few minutes of the game saw both teams probe forward with tentative forays into the opposition's final third, drawing offside decisions.

Soon, however, the hosts turned the screw and began registering chances on goal, with Marc Planus and Thomas Toure coming close to opening the scoring.

Toulouse managed to turn this around and ended the first half having threatened with a multitude of chances late on, despite neither side breaking the deadlock.

With the game on a knife edge, first blood was drawn by Bordeaux in the 53rd minute, as Planus celebrated his debut with a goal.

Better was to come for the home side as they extended their lead just 10 minutes later, thanks to a Diego Rolan header.

Martin Braithwaite then set up Aleksandar Pesic in the 68th minute, with the Serbian striker finishing off to pull a goal back for the visitors.

Ultimately, Bordeaux secured the win to hang on to fourth place in Ligue 1, while Toulouse are 14th.
