Josh Thompson signs Tranmere Rovers deal

Tranmere Rovers bring in former Colchester United defender Josh Thompson on a six-month deal.

Tranmere Rovers have signed defender Josh Thompson on a six-month deal.

The 23-year-old, whose former clubs include Celtic, Portsmouth and Chesterfield, had recently been on loan at Prenton Park from Colchester United.

"Josh has done well in his time with us and I'm pleased to be able to keep him in our squad for the rest of the season," boss Micky Adams told the club's official website.

Tranmere are currently in 21st place in the League Two table and are only above the relegation zone on goal difference.
