Michael Essien has revealed that he is not yet ready to hang up his boots as the experienced midfielder looks to continue as a professional footballer.

The 35-year-old was once regarded as one of the world's best midfielders during his time at Chelsea - winning two Premier League titles, four FA Cups and one Champions League with the English club.

Essien spent the 2015-16 season with Greek side Panathinaikos before joining Indonesian side Persib Bandung.

The Ghanaian departed Persib Bandung in March, but is not ready to hang up his boots amid reported interest from a number of Malaysian clubs.

"It's not the end. I have some discussion to do with some clubs. I still want to enjoy a little bit the years ahead of me before I call it done. If a club come from Malaysia, then we'll sit down and talk, then see what happens," Essien told Goal.com.

Essien has also previously turned out for the likes of Lyon, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
