Luis Suarez's lawyer has claimed that there is a conspiracy against the Uruguayan following his latest biting incident.
FIFA opened disciplinary proceedings on Wednesday after Suarez appeared to sink his teeth into Giorgio Chiellini during his country's win over Italy at the World Cup the previous day.
However, Suarez's legal representative believes that the 27-year-old is being unfairly targeted.
"We don't have any doubts that this has happened because it's Suarez and secondly because Italy was eliminated," Alejandro Balbi is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"There's a lot of pressure from England and Italy. We're polishing off a defence argument."
Uruguay have until 9pm on Wednesday to respond to the FIFA charge.
