Dani Parejo hails 'deserved victory'

Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo says that his team were "happy" to record a "deserved" victory against Lyon in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo has revealed his delight after Los Che recorded all three points against Lyon on Wednesday.

The Spanish side entered the Champions League match off the back of losing their first Group H match to Zenit St Petersburg, but a Sofiane Feghouli strike secured all the points in France.

"We're happy because the team deserved this victory," Super Deporte quotes the Valencia captain as saying. "The three points are important for us, for the group table and our confidence. The team is showing signs of togetherness, that it's united and that we know what we want.

"The start wasn't the best, not what was expected by us or by the fans but we are already focused on Sunday because it's another war."

Valencia return to La Liga action against Athletic Bilbao this weekend.
