Vitesse continued their climb up the Eredivisie table this evening with a 2-0 win over Willem II in Arnhem.
First-half goals from Zakaria Labyad and Bertrand Traore secured the hosts a fourth consecutive league win which takes them to seventh in the table.
Willem were only one point behind their opponents in the standings prior to kickoff and in good form themselves having recorded back-to-back victories last week.
However, it was a complete mismatch at the GelreDome as the visitors failed to register a single shot on target compared to Vitesse's 24 attempts and 57% possession.
It was little surprise, then, when Labyad arrived in the box to open the scoring on 28 minutes with his fourth goal of the season.
Peter Bosz's side doubled their advantage one minute prior to the interval as Chelsea loanee Traore collected a pass from Denys Oliynyk and stroked home.
The second half was damage limitation for Willem and only smart saves from Kostas Lamprou to deny Traore, Oliynyk and Davy Propper kept the scoreline respectable.
