Serbia lead Wales 3-1 at half-time of their World Cup qualifier this evening.

Wales have gone into half-time trailing Serbia 3-1 in their World Cup qualifing match this evening.

The visitors enjoyed a half chance after just six minutes when Ashley Williams floated a cross to Gareth Bale, but the Tottenham man couldn't convert his header.

Serbia responded with a headed chance of their own when Matija Nastasic was found unmarked, but he couldn't finish either. The hosts did take the lead after 15 minutes, however, through a thunderous Aleksandr Kolarov free kick.

The lead was doubled less than 10 minutes later, and this time Kolarov was the architect. The Manchester City man bundled his way through a number of challenges before setting up Zoran Tosic for an easy finish.

The visitors pulled a goal back on the half-hour mark when Bale fired in a fine free kick to give Chris Coleman his first goal in charge of Wales.

However, the hosts soon restored their two-goal margin when Tadic found Filip Djuricic, who slammed the ball past Boaz Myhill to give his side a 3-1 lead going into the break.
