Werder Bremen have saved a point late on against Borussia Monchengladbach to move up to 13th in the Bundesliga table.
It was the perfect start for the visitors, who went ahead after just six minutes when Raffael fired an effort into the top corner from outside the box.
The hosts' first chance of the game came in the 22nd minute, but Nils Petersen could not direct his left-footed effort on target and it went wide.
Petersen then came very close to the equaliser just before the break, but his low shot was tipped around the post by an alert Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Werder came out strongly and Zlatko Junuzovic was inches away from levelling things five minutes after the break when he smashed the crossbar from way out.
The hosts continued to dominate with both Ludovic Obraniak and Petersen coming close by testing Ter Stegen, but time was quickly running out.
They were finally rewarded late on in some style when Obraniak fired a free kick into the top corner to earn a share of the spoils.
