West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke is happy with a point away at Stoke despite the 0-0 draw at the Britannia lacking quality.

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke has declared himself pleased at his side's 0-0 draw with Stoke City this afternoon.

The match was a dull affair in which neither team created a lot of chances, and Clarke conceded that it probably wasn't a great spectacle for the fans.

However, while admitting that the match was lacking quality, Clarke was left pleased with a point at the Britannia Stadium.

"Poor game, good point," he said. "It was a game of very few chances and probably very little entertainment for the people watching.

"It is a good point away from home. We want to try to improve our away record and although we always like to try to win games, sometimes it is not possible.

"This is a difficult place to come and we knew it would be a tough game and one of few chances, which is how it turned out to be. The clean sheet for us is important - it is always important to defend well, especially away from home. We will take it as a good point."

The result leaves the Baggies eighth in the Premier League table, a point behind Liverpool.
